I started tinkering with computers at the age of six. Since then, I've acquired experience in software development and website creation with a mixture of popular technologies.
I'm currently focusing on my Computer Science studies. In my spare time I write about technology. I occasionally pursue hobby projects in software and websites development as well.

In 2007, I was invited to write for CyberNet News (site stats) after posting a series of self-written howtos to their discussion boards. I have been writing the occasional article for them ever since.
More recently, I've expanded to opinion pieces on topics ranging from piracy to Android's app permission system.

Digital terresterial television has been around for a while in Belgium, but online information about it is very scarce. This site educates visitors about various types of antennas and lets them look up reception info for their location.
It depends heavily on CSS3 but gracefully degrades in older browsers. It is the successor to The Belgian DVB-T Resource.

A low-priority work in progress, this site aims to collect information on a variety of programming topics such as quick syntax guides and language-specific concepts.
I've covered most important aspects of C and a number of C++-related articles are available as well.

I've been coding in Java on an academic level since 2009. I finished my C/C++ courses in 2010.
Over the years I've developed various pieces software for fun and work, most of which aren't publicly available for download.
For GUI-based programs I usually rely on Qt, even though I have worked with Visual Studio and GTK+'s C bindings on a more casual basis.

Here's a list of software-oriented programming languages I've worked with, but less intensively.

In early 2011, I developed a flowchart editor in collaboration with Isa Cayir as part of a long-term university assignment.
You can read more about it in Dutch on my university's site here.

In my spare time I've developed several websites for clients tailored to their needs.
Thanks to WordPress' CMS technology, I can empower them to take control of the site's content with a minimum of exposure to the technical stuff they don't want to waste time on.
I've worked with a graphic designer as well as existing WordPress designs for low budgets.
I'm not available for hire at this point.

During years of experimentation with website development, I've refined my skills and played with a multitude of technologies.
Most of my work is built on PHP. I also have brief academic experience working with Java EE and the Spring Web MVC framework.
I rely on CSS and jQuery-powered JavaScript to develop user-friendly web solutions. All my recent work is XHTML 1.0 Strict-compliant.

I took pride in designing and developing this site myself. It is an opportunity for me to improve my own design skills by studying existing design ideas and trying out new things.
That said, I don't consider myself a graphic designer. I do intend to continue working on my skills as time allows though.

Alongside my other work, I have been pursuing some vaguely tech-related interests such as podcasting, video editing, digital photography and subtitling as time allows.
I have contributed to a number of niche-targeted Wikipedia articles, but I'm less active now.
Internet culture keeps me entertained along with a few obscure television shows.

I like keeping up with international news to better understand the world we live in. In 2008 I picked up a guitar. I have been teaching myself using a mixture of guitar books, skill development exercises and videos.
Dutch is my mother tongue, with English coming in a close second. My French is a litte rusty. I'm fascinated by American culture for some reason.
